Events

The Society’s rooms are well suited to weddings, private functions, dinners, seminars, meetings and tastings. With flexible layouts and a calm, characterful atmosphere, the venue can be adapted to suit both formal and informal occasions.

The Library

The main Library is an attractive, versatile space accommodating up to 55 people. All furniture is moveable and can be arranged to suit weddings, dinners, seminars, receptions and other events.

The Library is open to Members Monday to Friday, 9.30am–2.30pm. Outside these hours, the building is available for pre-booked events.

The Committee Room

The Committee Room comfortably seats 14 people and is ideal for meetings, smaller gatherings and private discussions.

It was the perfect backdrop to our special day. I don't think we could have found a better place for our wedding reception and the service you have given us was beyond expectations.

Safety & Access

Due to fire safety regulations, the building can accommodate a maximum of 58 people at any one time. Please note that all facilities are located on the first floor and, due to the listed status of the building, disabled access cannot be provided. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can we use our own suppliers?

This can depend on the type of event and your requirements. Please discuss your preferred suppliers with the Society when making your enquiry.

How much does it cost to hire the venue?

Venue hire costs vary depending on the space, type of event and requirements. Please get in touch for current pricing and a tailored quote.

What if I need to cancel or change my booking?

If your plans change, please contact the Society as soon as possible. Cancellation and amendment terms may vary depending on your booking, and the Society will be able to advise you on the options available.

Can I host a public event?

The venue is available to hire for both private and public-facing events, subject to the nature of the event and availability. If you’re planning an event that is open to the public, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Can I bring guests?

Yes. The Society can accommodate events with guests and attendees, with the appropriate space selected based on your expected numbers and event format.
